I'm sorry to say that, at the moment, we are not taking any bookings for rthe guest house until further notice. Effective from September 2009.
We have been in Buxton now since August 2004 & it took until July 2005 to finish the renovation & decoration - just in time for that years Opera Festival, Fringe Festival & the Gilbert & Sullivan festival. Buxton has so much to offer all music lovers, walkers/ramblers & visitors.
Last years festivals in 2006 were a huge success for us & we "welcomed back" many of last years guests! A big "Thank You" to all of you who have returned to the guest house.
Buxton Opera House has much more than classical music & opera to offer, the website www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk, has all the forthcoming entertainment & booking facilities.
Come & visit the beautiful Peak District & all its sights. The stunning Chatsworth House & the village of Hathersage are all within a short drive from Buxton, both places were used in the making of the new film of Pride & Prejudice which has just been released.

This is the main entrance hallway. Many of the original Victorian features had been removed over the years, we have tried to put this right! However, we wanted to make the house light & airy; Contemporary Victorian, if you like! It has been described as having a "colonnial feel". Throughout the house there are a large amounts of antiques - all from various periods! We don't believe in sticking to just one style! We have mixed these with our "travel treasures" from places like Cambodia, Burma & Nepal.

1) No smoking throughout the house.
2) No muddy boots on the new carpets!
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the house & it being in a conservation area, it is unsuitable for wheelchairs. The stairs in the picture lead up to the 1st floor where all the bedrooms are located.
